the occasional bath

Life is busy and hectic. It seems like everyone is in a hurry and there’s never enough time to get things done. Sadly, we tend to neglect ourselves and forget to partake in some healing self-care. Baths are healthy, good for your soul, and extremely relaxing. Let’s construct the perfect bath for the perfect occasion and find out why we love bath time!

  1. Fill the Bath.

Fill the tub with your desired amount of water and the temperature that you feel comfortable in. The hotter the water the more detoxifying the bath will be. Be sure not to burn yourself but also remember that over time the water will get cooler.

  1. Use Epsom Salt.

Epsom Salt is made from magnesium sulfate and it aids in relaxation and can help calm our bodies naturally. Anxiety, nervousness, and insomnia are often linked to a magnesium deficiency. Hot baths with Epsom Salt help restore magnesium to our bodies. Magnesium is known to reduce inflammation which helps muscle and nervous system function and prevents arteries from clogging. The sulfates help us absorb nutrients, ease tension and migraines, strengthen the walls of the digestive tract, and assist in flushing out harmful toxins and heavy metals.

  1. Add Essential Oils.

Ahhhh, essential oils. They have powers to heal us mentally, physically, and emotionally. Oils can be applied topically, taken internally, or absorbed aromatically. They can improve the vibe and energy in our bodies or in any room. Essential oils can add a healing and relaxing experience to your bath.

  1. Burn Candles.

Help set the mood for your bath by dimming or turning off your overhead lighting and illuminating the room with candles. The radiant glow of candles is a perfect accompaniment for your bath and will help you fall deeper into relaxation. Avoid toxins by choosing candles made with soy and essential oils instead of a paraffin based candles that have artificial fragrance and lead core wicks.

  1. Make a Bath Playlist.

  1. Cleanse & Rinse.

Cleanse your body with a healthy and aromatic soap. Some of our favorites include Lemon Basil, Cacao, and the Seasonal Blend Box. These soaps leave your skin smelling incredible and feeling so soft and smooth! {If you purchase any of these soaps another bar of soap is also donated to someone in need!}

  1. Exfoliate and Detoxify your Gorgeous Skin.

Exfoliation is important for keeping our skin smooth, clear, and detoxified. When we don't regularly exfoliate our skin can become rough, acne and blemish prone, and our body won’t be able to release toxins properly. Here are some of our favorites:

Face :: Sea Kelp Face Scrub

Body :: Cranberry Cinnamon, Orange Spice, Lemongrass + Ginger, and Peppermint + Lavender Scrubs

Feet :: Lemon Mint Foot Scrub

  1. Moisturize.

Use a non-toxic, organic, and fair trade or USA made lotion to moisturize. Also, be sure to finish your foot rub with the Toe & Heel Butter. It’s a luxurious combination of unrefined shea and cocoa butters with organic olive oil. This butter has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties and it increases circulation and eases muscle aches and pains. Massage into your feet as the last step of your healthy feet regimen.

  1. Snuggle Up.

Grab your favorite organic cotton leggings, tee, or sweatshirt and a lovely throw to cuddle up with. Dive into a great book, magazine, or use your journal to reflect and relax.
